Minimum sound insulation 2010 – generally recognized technical regulations and DIN 4109

In terms of minimum sound insulation, the majority of experts consider that the generally recognized technical regulations represent a suitable level of requirements. DIN 4109 "Sound insulation in building construction" from 1989 currently defines the requirements made of sound insulation. With the legally binding introduction of this standard, the requirements define the minimum sound insulation stipulated by law. The level of requirements currently drafted in E DIN 4109, from October 2006, often deviates greatly from the generally recognized technical regulations. This article outlines the level of requirements for minimum sound insulation.
