You can order individual e-books published by Ernst & Sohn and the entire John Wiley and Sons Inc. group from the Wiley-VCH E-Bookshop. In the subject field Life Sciences / Technology you will see an overview of the available Ernst & Sohn e-Books. The cooperation partner for the E-Bookshop is media control GmbH & Co. KG.
E-books and e-bundles are non-returnable. By law, an e-book is an item not suitable for return on account of its characteristics. E-books and e-bundles are excluded from the right of revocation – just like movie, music and software downloads. Therefore we regret that the return of e-books and e-bundles is not possible.
E-books are available in ePUB, PDF and mobi formats and are marked by the appropriate symbols.
Brief description of the formats:
ePUB is the standard format for e-books. E-books in ePUB format reproduce dynamic content and are best suited for mobile readers. The text flow automatically adjusts to the size of the display on the device. The same applies to the mobi format. This is also an ePUB-format, but specially for Kindle devices and Amazon customers.
PDF is a format that is independent of platforms and is used for the exchange of text and photos. PDF is used particularly for specialist literature. Our e-books are protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM). You need Adobe Digital Editions and an Adobe ID to read them.
At present, print editions and e-books can be ordered only with two separate shopping baskets.
Use the Ernst & Sohn basket to order the print edition; for the e-book, use the Ernst & Sohn / Wiley-VCH E-Bookshop or Amazon, depending on the e-Book format (ePub, PDF, mobi).
You will create two orders and receive separate invoices for the print edition and the e-book.
All e-books from Ernst & Sohn are protected by Adobe DRM (Digital Rights Management). You need Adobe Digital Editions, a free software program with which to read DRM-protected books, and an Adobe ID, which is a user account with that software manufacturer. With both of these, you can use an e-book with a single-device licence on up to 6 readers.
If you select ePub or PDF, you are taken to the Ernst & Sohn / Wiley-VCH e-Bookshop. The e-book contract is created between you and the cooperation partner of Ernst & Sohn / Wiley-VCH, i.e. media control GmbH & Co. KG, Augustaplatz 8, 76530 Baden-Baden, Germany. Media control handles the processing of the entire order with various payment systems, invoicing, download and technical support.

An e-bundle comprises the print edition and the e-book. When you buy the e-bundle version of a book, you receive with the print edition an access code to the e-PDF version of the book.
