The "Passerelle" at Bordeaux - historical landmark of iron bridge engineering at stake.
The "Passerelle" is a railway bridge that was erected from 1858 to 1860 in Bordeaux, connecting the network of the Paris-Orléans railway to that of the independently evolved Midi rail system. After 150 years of service for heavy railway traffic, the bridge has been put out of service in May 2008, a new replacement bridge being completed next to it.
