Among the undisputed European cultural masterpieces are the Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach and Beethoven's Diabelli Variations. Just as with musical motifs, constructional or architectural themes can naturally also be varied. In an exceptionally self-confident manner, the architects Gerkan, Marg und Partner (gmp) are exhibiting their current stadium variations along the lines of the great masters mentioned above. 19 stadiums, organized by the architecture museum of the Munich Technical University, at the Pinakothek der Moderne from April 22 through June 20, 2010.
