Keep up-to-date in Mechanised Shield Tunnelling

During the past years, machine tunnelling has been increasing its market share continually. Challenging project boundary conditions and difficult geotechnical situations as well as densely built-up inner cities result in a significant development of the machine technology. For this reason, the second and completely revised and updated edition of the book "Mechanised Shield Tunnelling" by Prof. Bernhard Maidl, Dr. Martin Herrenknecht, Dr. Ulrich Maidl and Dr. Gerhard Wehrmeyer is now being published. This edition presents the state of the art in mechanised shield tunnelling and the various types of machines available as well as design approaches and constructive suggestions. Several chapters are dedicated to mining tools, conveyor systems, securing tunnels, surveying and controlling as well as operational safety. Detailed elaborations regarding contractual aspects and process controlling are also included.
