Ekkehard Ramm - 70th birthday

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Dr. h.c. Ekkehard Ramm celebrated his 70th birthday on 3 October 2010.

Through and beyond his outstanding technical achievements in research and teaching Ekkehard Ramm has rendered great services to science in general and civil engineering in particular. For these achievements in education and research Ekkehard Ramm has received numerous awards, including among others the Tsuboi Prize of the IASS (1991), the Eric Reissner Medal (1995), the Congress Medal (Gauß-Newton Medal) of the IACM (2008) and the Torroja Medal of the IASS (2009). In 2004, he received honorary doctorates from the Technical University of Munich and the University of Calgary. Most importantly, though, Ekkehard Ramm is a man whose integrity and friendliness are mentioned first by all those who are acquainted with him personally and know him best.
