Change of President at the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik
After five years in office, the President of the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt), Dipl.-Ing. Erich Jasch will retire on October 31 2009, at the age of 68.
During his presidency, the DIBt in its capacity as a national and European service provider to the Federal and laender governments, as well as to manufacturers of building materials, focused on the uniform fulfillment of technical tasks in the field of public law. Thanks to his untiring commitment, the "Service Center DIBt" was able to extend its range of tasks for the long term.
Erich Jasch was not only the oldest president to hold office at the DIBt, but was also an extremely committed and technically skilled member of staff with a capacity for critical appraisal.
His successor is Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Breitschaft, who has held a managerial position at the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik since 2003.
On October 27 2009, the president and Hamburg's representative on the Institute's supervisory board, Werner Koch, conducted the farewell ceremony for Erich Jasch and introduced Gerhard Breitschaft.
