Abstract: | Gewalzte Winkel sind typische Profile im Mast-, Turm- und Freileitungsbau. Buckling resistance of L-profiles in towers, masts and open line constructions. Rolled L-profiles are typical cross sections in towers, masts and open line constructions. Depending on the length, the dominant failure mode can change from lateral torsional to global and to local buckling. Current standards such as DIN EN 1993-1 (steel structures), DIN EN 1993-3 (towers and masts) and DIN EN 50341-1 and -3-4 (both open line constructions) are using different approaches to design against stability failure. In the study presented here, the main differences between the standards are shown. The results are furthermore compared with experimental results and finite element calculations, particularly with respect to imperfection sensitivity. |
