Construction of the southern section of the Südbahnhofbrücke and the Arsenalsteg in the course of the development of the new central railway station of Vienna, Austria. This article covers the first phase of construction of the new bridges B0351 “Südbahnhofbrücke” (roadway, bicycle lane and pedestrian bridge) and the B0352 “Arsenalsteg” (pedestrian and bicycle lane bridge), spanning the railways in the eastern part of the future central railway station of Vienna, Austria. With the realisation of these new bridges on behalf of the city of Vienna, Municipal Department 29 (MA 29) - Bridge Construction and Foundation Engineering, the urban development areas around the new central railway station will be better connected. The new bridges will act as a new doorway to Vienna and be perceived, by the railway travellers, as an invitation to the city, heralding the future central railway station. |
